USING THE TEXAS BARBEQUE BIG PIT BASTING LOOP

Spread out a bar towel.
|
|
|
Fold the towel in half.
|
|
|
Then fold it into quarters.
|
|
|
Fold back one layer of towel and slip the basting loop's spreader loop (the plain end)
into the folded corner of the towel.
|
|
|
Fold over the open towel ends and wrap some cooking twine around twice.
|
|
|
Pull the twine tight and tie a square or butcher's knot.
|
|
|
Snip the loose twine ends back to about an inch long.
|
|
|
You're ready to baste! Just cut the twine and discard the towel when done.
Wash the iron loops with mild dish soap and water and dry.
There are no hard-to-clean crevices or fibers to harbor soap or old meat juices for next time!
Stainless steel loops
can be washed in the dishwasher.
